Cookie Policy
Last updated: March 21, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Braintree ("brain-tree.ai", "we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies (including localStorage) when you visit our website.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the website remember your preferences and understand how you interact with the site. We also use localStorage, which is a browser storage mechanism that functions similarly to cookies and is subject to the same consent requirements under the EU ePrivacy Directive.
2. Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies (No Consent Required)
These cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function and cannot be disabled.
| Cookie / Storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Supabase authentication session | Session / 1 year |
| sb-*-auth-token-code-verifier | PKCE code verifier for OAuth security | Session |
| cookie-consent | Stores your cookie consent preference (localStorage) | Persistent |
Analytics, Session Recording, and Support Cookies (Require Consent)
These cookies are only set after you click "Accept All" on our consent banner. They help us understand usage patterns, replay anonymized user sessions for debugging, and provide live chat support.
| Cookie / Storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| ph_* | PostHog analytics (page views, click tracking, usage patterns) | 1 year |
| __ph_session_id | PostHog session recording ID (screen replays with all inputs masked) | Session |
| crisp-client/* | Crisp live chat session and preferences | 6 months |
What We Do Not Use
- No advertising or marketing cookies
- No cross-site tracking
- No data sold to third parties
- No Google Fonts CDN (fonts are self-hosted, no data sent to Google for font loading)
3. Session Recording
When you accept optional cookies, PostHog may record your browsing session (mouse movements, clicks, scrolling, and page transitions). All form inputs are automatically masked so that no passwords, personal messages, or sensitive text is captured. Session recordings help us identify usability issues and improve the product. You can prevent session recording by clicking "Reject All" on the consent banner or by updating your preferences via the Cookie Settings link in our footer.
4. Managing Your Preferences
When you first visit our site, a consent banner lets you choose between "Reject All" (only essential cookies) and "Accept All" (includes analytics, session recording, and live chat).
To change your preference at any time: Click the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of any page. This will reset your choice and show the consent banner again.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
